The local Area

There are many different things you can do close to Castlewigg. Whether you want to go for a relaxing stroll, enjoy a round of golf or want to try your hand at fishing there is something for all!

Our location has the unique benefit of being warmed by the Gulf Stream which provides warmer weather and sea temperates than anywhere else in Scotland. Meaning our area is home to different wildlife and flowers that wouldn’t survive anywhere else in Scotland.

Our park is situated 18 miles south of Newton Stewart and only 2 miles north of Whithorn. We are surrounded by unspoilt countryside and there is a selection of sandy beaches just 5 miles away. The ideal retreat for those seeking peace, tranquillity and outdoor adventure.

Walking, cycling, birdwatching or a round of golf are just a few of the activities that you could undertake. Maybe you wish to explore the array of coastlines, towns and villages scattered throughout the Machars Penninsula.
